Azesha is a Makeup Artist based in NY’s Hudson Valley and is a native of the region. She grew up watching her mom draw, paint, sew, and knit. This early exposure to art and crafts had a profound effect on her. She briefly attended Marist College majoring in political science and American history but transferred to study visual arts where she received a B.A. with a concentration in filmmaking and photography from Hampshire College.
Azesha has an amiable nature and is told she makes others feel at ease. Her approach is simple and starts with nourished skin. She believes one has the power to evoke a mood or create a statement with makeup although sometimes a little concealer seems like enough.
Her love of beauty products started at an early age. These items seemed just like other art supplies. Paints, pencils and brushes used to communicate ideas but on the face instead of paper or canvas.
Azesha received a certificate in Professional Makeup Artistry from Face Stockholm Makeup Academy which at one time offered training at locations in Sweden, Norway and the USA. She then began accepting bridal clients and assisting in makeup departments.
She continues to work in production and served as Key Makeup Artist for Pretty Doesn’t Hurt a short film directed by Jennifer Rau and written by Brooke Berman which was an Official Selection at the 2023 Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema, 2023 Pasadena International Film Festival and 2023 Glass Ceiling Breakers Festival Best of Fest winner. She remains committed to her work with brides and others for special events and appearances.
When she’s not working she enjoys crafting, especially knitting with Malabrigo hand dyed yarns. And if it’s early spring she’s starting vegetable, fruit and flower seeds for the garden.
